Questions to Ponder - 4-13-12

I've got some questions, maybe you guys can help answer them.

1. I have a love/hate relationship with Victoria's Secret. I wear their bras. But, I don't think I'm in the right size, (each time I'm sized by them, they tell me something different.) Where should I go to get fitted properly? If that means changing where I buy bras, so be it.

2. I have fine hair. Not thin, but fine, like a baby's. I have a lot of hair, but it's fine. This means that it tangles if you look at it funny. I blow dry and straighten it almost daily. If I leave it to air dry, it's a mess of frizz. But, I don't really have curl, I kinda have waves, but not really. I wash it daily. By about 10 am, it needs brushed through because of the tangles. Well, once I comb through it, I have static like you wouldn't believe!! Can anyone recommend anything for this?

  1. Not sure where to get fitted, but I love Gilligan O'Malley bras from Target.  They are cheaper than VS, but fit me better than any bra I've wore.  I highly recommend them!

  2. I love Lane Bryant for bra's! Great support, cute patterns and colors, amazing quality and reasonable prices. I just stocked up on 8 of them on a sale! I would recommend trying out different places and seeing what fits you the best and what feels the most comfortable on you!

  3. AHHH NOOOOOO, Victoria's Secret is the devil!!  They carry such a narrow range of sizes and almost nobody fits them properly and their salespeople are total crap.  Please please please, I'm begging you as a devoted evangelist for proper bra fittings--go up to Barbara's New Beginnings, next to Keystone Fashion Mall (same strip as bed bath & beyond) and get a real fitting.  You will be amazed!  A well-fitting bra makes all the difference in the world.

Also, check out this great LiveJournal board for all things bra-related: http://thirty-twod.livejournal.com/

  4. Have you tried Soma Intimates?

Also for your hair: I have the same problem - it is fine but I have a lot of it.

The only thing that does not weigh my hair down and I have consistently used for the last ten years or so is

Alberto V05 Sheer Hairdressing. I have tried everything and this is the one anti friz product that works best for me

  5. Nordstrom will fit you.  They are so much better than VS.  ANd then you can go scour the rack for your size on sale.

  6. I have the same hair texture as you and the only thing that helped me with the frizzies and flyaways was some kiddie detangler and a Tangle Teezer brush. Just sprayed the ends and brushed them out and then sprayed the brush to use on the top.

  7. I agree with the Barbara's and Nordstrom suggestions for a fitting.

  8. I think I am going to try Nordstroms soon. The whole thing just intimidates me. Not to mention that bras are just so gosh darn expensive! (I'm such a cheapskate!)

  9. I haven't tried their bras yet. But most department store bras like that just don't fit me right.

  10. I don't think I can fit a bra as Lane Bryant. I can only wear their bottoms as their tops are always way to big on me.

  11. Bra shopping just intimidates me so much! I am either going to go their or to Nordstroms. I have heard great things about both places.

  12. I like the idea of looking for stuff on sale! (I'm a cheapskate!)

  13. I've never heard of a Tangle Teezer brush. What is it?
